Lunch:
River Hills School serves nutritious meals and milk every day. Students may purchase
the regular hot lunch or salad bar lunche for $1.75 per lunch. Extra milk may be purchased for $.25 per half pint.
Children from families whose income is at or below certain levels are eligible for free meals or for meals at the reduced
price of $.40 per meal. To apply for free or reduced-price meals parents are required to complete an application form. This
form will be sent to parents at the beginning of the school year. If family income changes, you may apply for free or reduced-price
meals at any time throughout the school year.
Breakfast:
River Hills now makes
breakfast available to students. Students may purchase breakfast for $1.00 per meal. Those eligible for reduced-price meals
pay $.30 per meal. There is no charge for those eligible for free meals.
Students may purchase meals on a weekly
or monthly basis. At the time of purchase a receipt is issued. No meal tickets are issued to any student.
The
secretary prepares a checklist on which to register meals purchased and to tally the daily participation as the students go
through the line. When there are only two meals left, parents will be notified that additional meals need to be purchased.
