Students are transported to school on buses operated by Exceptional Persons (291-6967), Inc., First Student (291-4879),
or their local school district (Superintendent's office number).
You should receive information from your
bus driver regarding the approximate time of pick up and drop off for your student. If you have questions regarding buses
during the school year please call the company handling your child's transportation or the school districts Superintendent's
office.
Some things to remember:
1. Have your child ready for the bus at the same
time he or she was picked up last school year. Drivers may only contact families where there is a time change.
2.
Watch carefully for your child's bus. Drivers will wait no longer that one minute for each child.
3. There
should always be someone at home after school to get your child from the bus.
4. Please use your arrow if your
child is not going to ride - the arrow indicates that the driver need not wait. Arrows are available from E.P.I.
5. Always call the school (268-7775) if your child is going to be absent, in addition to calling the bus garage.
6. ALWAYS CALL THE SCHOOL OFFICE (268-7775) REGARDING ADDRESS CHANGES.
7. Busing changes may ONLY be made by
calling the school (i.e., permanent address changes, change in baby sitter address, change in pick up or drop off either before
or after school - even for one day). Your child's bus driver will not be able to make any changes unless a note comes
from the school.
8. If weather causes cancellation of school, this will be announced on local television or radio
and will be identified as "AEA 267 River Hills."
9. Drivers will try to arrive at your home in the morning
and in the afternoon at the same time every day.
10. If your child will be picked up after school then that person
needs to arrive PRIOR to the bus loading time. If no one is there to pick them up at the time the bus loads we will have them
transported on the bus since we cannot supervise students after the bus departs.
If you have any questions regarding
the time of pick up or drop off, please call the bus supervisor to discuss your concerns with them.
Prior to 8:30
a.m. when the bus supervisor arrives at River Hills, personnel at the school have very little information regarding buses.
River Hills has no base station to talk with drivers and therefore must wait until someone arrives at school to share information
regarding late buses, etc. There will normally be someone at the bus garage to answer the telephone after 6:00 a.m., and they
will be able to relay messages to the supervisors or to the bus drivers.
