River Hills School is a public sponsored special school for students with moderate, severe, and profound developmental disabilities.
The school serves students from birth through age 21. It is operated by Area Education Agency 267 and funded through participating
local school districts.
The uniqueness of our setting is that it is staffed by professionals with expertise in working with students with developmental
disabilities. This expertise allows us to focus on the use of current and innovative instructional strategies while incorporating
the latest technology into instruction.
Approximately 140 students from local school districts within AEA 267 attend River Hills School. There are 24 classrooms,
each staffed by a licensed teacher and typically two paraprofessionals. Typical class size ranges from 5 to 7 students.
Support staff in the building include Special Educational Consultants, Speech - Language Pathologists, Audiologist, School
Social Worker, School Psychologist, Special Education Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Work Experience
Instructor.
